The Americans with Disabilities act (ADA) requires an Area
of Refuge system in all newly constructed multi-story buildings and public
accommodations to provide a means to request evacuation assistance in an
emergency. This ADA requirement also applies to significant renovations of
existing multi-story facilities. For this communication need Electronic
Contracting Company offers Area of Refuge systems manufactured by Cornell and
Housing Devices.

The Cornell 4100 Rescue Assistance System is a cost effective solution to this enforced ADA
requirement. The 4100 provides a reliable repeating tone and light signal
at the central station.
The Cornell 4200 Series Audio Rescue Assistance System
includes voice communication. A single pulse tone and a flashing light
signals the caller that the alarm has been received. The central station
can then talk to the caller.
The Housing Devices ADA 100 vandal resistant emergency call system is a modular, hands-free
emergency call system with both audio and visual
alarms.
The Housing Devices ADA 1000 system was designed to be
used when a hard-wired emergency call system isn't an
option. The ADA 1000 emergency call system is made of 16-gage stainless
steel and is connected by a telephone line. With its 3" Push to talk
button, this system offers hands-free audio and visual
alarms.
